If I could give a 0 I certainly would. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! A dishonest, unreliable, unprofessional, shady business with absolutely NO customer service! I hired this company through a moving broker. Little did I know how horrible this company is. It has been nothing but a nightmare since day one. It 1st started when the movers started putting couch cushions in boxes and then tried to charge me for extra space when in reality I had less than I gave as an estimate. They then said they were going to charge me additional money but wouldn't if I "took good care of them." They were extremely taking over 4 hours to pack a one bedroom apartment. Six days later they called me mid afternoon (Thursday) telling me they were on their way and would be at my place in 6 to 7 hours. They never arrived and did not call. I called the next morning and was told "the truck broke down and I would here from someone shortly." Never received a call. I called the broker Friday evening and she contacted American Home Relocation and was told that my belongings never left GA. ??? They told me they were on their way and the truck broke down. On Saturday I received a call at 11:15am telling me they were on their way and would be to my place in 5 hours. After 6 hours I called for an update and was told "the weather is bad and we were pulled over my a state trooper who told us we had to pullover." In that same breath he said "and my boss had us go to Savannah to pick-up a load." He then told me he'd be here between 9 to 10 on Sunday morning. 9:45 I called to get an update and was told "ma'am there is a category 5 hurricane and I'm not driving into a category 5 hurricane. " I acknowledge that there was a hurricane sitting over the Bahamas but wasn't going to be anywhere near us and wouldn't be until Tuesday evening at the latest. I then contacted the manager who would not return my call. I asked for the address of my belongings because at this point I have not trust in the company and they won't give it to me. The company is dishonest, unprofessional, unreliable, and has shady business practices.

We have also gone through a nightmare with this company. You can file a complaint with the GBI at gbi.geogia.gov or calling 800-597-eight four seven seven. These people need to be closed down!

This company has the worst customer service and terrible communication skills. When I booked, Alan (the owner) warned me not to use a broker company and assured me several times to book with them. I asked how long it would take to get my stuff from Louisiana to North Carolina and he responded about 5-7 days. Never told me about their 1-21 business day policy. A week after they picked up our stuff I called to get an estimated date it would arrive because they never provided me with one during pickup. I was told probably that weekend. Didn’t happen. Two weeks later Karen (receptionist I’m assuming) called and said my items would be in transit that weekend and delivered early the next week. The next Tuesday I called since I still didn’t have my stuff to be told by Karen that they still haven’t loaded them on a truck and it’s not in transit yet. Why didn’t they call to say there was an issue and it would be later than I was told?? I’ve tried to speak to management and have called over 20 times with no answer. Next Tuesday marks 21 business days so hopefully they will deliver before their policy states. Just warning you that it will take MUCH longer than estimated so beware! I would give 0 stars if it was possible.

Hello, I'm having a similar issue to yours. My stuff was picked up in almost a month ago for a cross country move and I've been calling them about once a week for updates.

Last week they told me my stuff was still in a warehouse but assured me that it would be here within the 21 business day timeframe.

I reminded them that it had already been 14 business days at that point (it'll hit 21 on july 1st) and they haven't given me a reason it hasn't left or an ETA. Do you have any advice?

The only advice I can give is just be patient. I was told when I booked that I would have my belongings in 5-7 days and I was so ready to have my stuff and unpack in our new home.

I was not expecting it to be as long of a wait as it was, but they were 2 business days shy of it being 21 business days. Just keep calling for updates and try to be patient.

Thanks for the response. I talked to them again and now they raised the price and said they won’t ship my stuff until I pay half of it. I sent them a copy of the original binding estimate to which they haven’t responded and now they won’t answer my phone calls.

Hi! Can you tell me if you eventually dot you stuff and was it within 21 days of pick up?

I am having a hard time getting a response from them and my 21 day window is up in 3 days.

Also, did you end up having to pay more than your original balance owed? This is a very anxiety provoking experience !

Two of the guys came and packed my apartment. They didn't care about the things. They didn't wrap the delicate items with any bubble wrapper and simply threw it in their truck. Even I have asked them to wrap the items but they replied that they won't do it there but in the warehouse. But they forced us to tip them despite their irresponsible behavior. Before downloading the items they got our money. The are money minded and never want to do their work with any perfection. The agents who recommend them should also be responsible for such frauds and scams.

American Home Relocation has not contacted me to pick up items for move. Thsy have not responded to my phone calls or messages, and I have paid them some money already. Some of the phone numbers

I have contacted American Home Movers several times, some of the numbers have been disconnected, customer service number has message that it is not set up to receive messages, and even though I have paid them money already, no service has been given to me.

Holding my things hostage and lied they weighed my things

I was scamned by a broker and they hired these unprofessional theives. I had a binding contract of 1800 dollars. On February 28th two young men from Geogia came two hours late in a Ryder moving truck. They were good i must say and was done in an hour. I paid 704 deposit and then 580 for them to take my things away. On March 5th i got an email from the company stating i kwed 1800 more dollars because i went over 2200 pounds. I asked for a weight ticket. The customer service said i will get it in 24 to 48 hours. I have'nt receivef it. I have been calling, sending emails , and texting Jerry who is the person that has my things, he won't respond the manager Michelle won't respond. I have reported them to the BBB and filed a complaint with the FMCSA. I got a lawyer now. I tried to negotiate with this company .Its been almost six months and they won't give me my stuff back.

I reported them to the FMCSA and eventually I got my things back with the amount I was supposed to owe them in the first place. My things had a moldy smell but once I febreezed them it was fine. They also broke my tv, which I never got payed for It's been over a year ago.

I finally got stuff, but my stuff smelled like mildew and all my stuff wasn't a year old when they came got my stuff. Plus my 50 inch tv was severely damaged.

Im also suing them for the damage, fir holding my things for 5 and a half months. They also wanted more money when the brought my things. They were claiming I was long haul and they couldn't get the semi truck into the complex.

Since I didn't have the money they sat my things in the dirt and I has to bring my owe things into my apartment. This is the worst moving company ever and its not over for what I been through.

I hired these movers to move a small amount of stuff from North Carolina to Texas for my wife who went up there to help take care of a new grandson they are only moving a brand new bed box and a toebox and a small dresser when it all got to Texas the mattress was folded in half and broken the tote box containing over $3500 worth of camera Quitman and personal stuff was missing They didn’t turn me over to a third-party company who said they would investigate and get back to me for months later they get back to me and say we’re going to give you a check for $32 for Damage and missing stuff This is a sham they sold me on the fact that there’s $10,000 insurance coverage on all the articles being moved and they’re only offering $32 for what should be almost $5000 with the stuff missing and damaged The people that dropped off the bed the dresser and the other stuff said oh we’re missing a tote they marked it down on the paperwork it was missing. I wouldn’t use this moving company at all I wouldn’t recommend it as a matter fact they should be barred from moving any military personnel are being used by the government at all

I’m trying to figure out who is the CEO of this company so I can list them by name in the court of law here in Texas it’s BS that they can take and rip off thousands of dollars worth of equipment and only offer you $32 because that’s about what it cost and wait I’m also taking that third-party to court as well

Keep away from these dirt bags! Price doubled when the packed our items. We were lied to every step of the way. Movers picked up our belongings in Illinois on July 25th and we still haven’t received our belongings 6 weeks later. No one returns our calls - pathetic company!

In a nut shell, my sisters and I relocated my 64 year old father from Louisiana to Florida. We hired this company to move his belongings without doing much research and we regret it wholeheartedly. They picked up his furniture the day he was driving to Florida and was told it would be delivered to his new residence in three days. Not only was it not delivered, they actually put it in storage in Louisiana and didn't even notify us. We called and called and called until we finally figured out what was going on. My 64 y/o father was forced to sleep on an inflatable bed and watch his tv in a beach chair while we waited more than three weeks for his items to be delivered. Once delivered, we realized a lot of his furniture was damaged and his favorite recliner was never delivered. The customer service has been nothing short of terrible trying to resolve this issue and they just send you to a claims department that does nothing once a claim is submitted. I would stay far away from this company!!!!!

Would not deliver our furniture until I paid several hundred dollars more based on their assessment of my furniture being over the amount they originally quoted me. I had to pay or they would not unload the truck.

They said they would drive back to their warehouse and store it there for two weeks before they would attempt delivery again.

The agent I had to deal with became verbally abusive as well.

After paying, as they unloaded the furniture, there was so much damage it was unbelievable. When I tried to claim the damage through their "claim process" I was told that American Home Relocation is not covered by their claim service.

Personal cell phone number of person who runs the company. He will answer text Jerry (678) 471-**** BEWARE of this company! I moved from Michigan to Colorado. I have no clue when I’m getting my stuff. I was under the impression that they would drive my stuff to Colorado that same weekend. The drivers showed up(after canceling once, and 5hours late the next day), and told me if could be from 7-21 “business days”. That was on June 7th. Next week will be 21 business days. I have no clue if my stuff is coming or not.Terrible commications. Check out this company on the BBB &Yelp for real reviews. I would give them a -200 if I could. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company. RUN AWAY. Where is my stuff????? Just had to hire a different moving company to go get my stuff. From the looks of it lots of stuff is damaged. The new moving company will have my stuff here tomorrow am.

Told me the quote was really high so everything would be covered.Day before they arrived the actual company they booked told me nothing was covered which left me with 20 hours to buy $300.00 in boxes and do all the packing that I had been assured they would do. Then when they got there I was told the quote would barely cover half the move and they would have to leave half my stuff there for someone else to move 940 miles to Indiana. I was tempted at that point to forfeit my $950.00 deposit and book a legitimate company. In all honesty, at that point I would have been money ahead to forfeit the deposit, donate all furniture and personal belongings, and used the thousands that I saved and driven to Indiana with just the clothes on my back and bought everthing new.

WARNING! Check OUT EVERYTHING about this company on as many sites as possible including mymovingreviews.com and the BBB Chicago area (F RATING and ALERT issued due to # of complaints).

This company is a long distance BROKER. Their website talks about “our” movers, etc., and has a photo of an AHR truck, which I don’t think exists (DOT states they have 1 TRUCK). Website claims they are based in GA, but they are incorporated in IL. Somehow affiliated with Moving Services Group LLC in GA - “customer service”, etc.

located there. Issues: 1. Doubled their quote after load picked up- claiming overload. Their paperwork indicated it was 9 lbs.

under - the driver who picked up the load also called me the next day with the weight. There was no way that the load weighed as much as claimed. Then demanded full payment before they would even schedule delivery (not remainder due ON delivery as the Binding Estimate we signed states). Had to complete and notarize 4 forms for them to accept my credit card.

2. No communication/liars: they are brokers (without a brokers license). They took my items to a warehouse in IL - never told me it was going into storage. I assumed when they (2 guys from GA) picked up the load in a small box truck (no identification on it), they were taking it to load onto a bigger truck going to AZ.

The delivery date was, as requested, 11/2-3. I was told up until that date, that items were in transit. On 11/2, while driving to AZ , I was first informed they did not receive payment and won't schedule until it is received. They later "discovered " payment was received but delivery won't be for another 7-21 business days from 11/2.

Rudest and most inept operation- no return messages/calls. I found out about the delivery date before they did! 3. Delivery: There was only one guy on the truck so my son had to help unload.

Missing 6 out of 24 boxes (and one was left behind at my house). AHR, or their cohorts out of GA, picked up the load on 10/20/18 and a third party, 495 Movers, delivered on 11/16/18. I informed Jerry Whaley (678-471-****) who is the Principal/Dispatcher- immediately that the boxes were missing. First told me all boxes were accounted for and loaded on truck.

After practically begging him to look in warehouse, he called back to say that he had them (5 or 6) and that we "HAVE HIS WORD" that he will get them to AZ, "no charge." We waited to hear from him but I had to contact him every time for any updates. He used excuses that he couldn't find a truck going to that part of AZ. Then, he couldn't find a truck going to AZ at all, although they claimed AZ is their most popular destination ( per emails with quote). To make a long story short (yes there is more), months passed and still no boxes.

In early January and 2 weeks later, I texted Whaley and told him to return them to me in OH. No response. We decided last week to go to Chicago (700 mi round trip) and get the boxes ourselves. He was all game for that!

We went to the warehouse on W48th Place in Chicago and got the 4 remaining boxes. He refused to reimburse us for our travel expenses or the cost to ship to AZ ourselves. AHR was formed in Oct.

2017 but the number of complaints far exceed what you would expect from a legitimate business! DOT and IL Atty General notified.

I start by thanking American Home Relocation and the guys . We've moved over 10 times, and these guys were by far the best movers I've ever had. They were fast, went to work right away (I feel like so often movers put around for the first 30-45 minutes), were polite, funny and did an amazing job fitting as much as they could into two the truck. kept me in my estimate. They were not the cheapest, but I went with them because of their high rating and experience , well worth it! Definitely will be moving me on my next move and I move a lot for my job.

THEY SCAMMED Me ON THE THE PICK UP SO I HAD TO THROW AWAY ALOT OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS THEY TRIED TO TRIPLE MY ESTIMATE I HAD TO THREATEN THEM .. IT HAS BEEN A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! Please file Complaint with the DOT (nccdb.fmca.dot.gov) and Illinois Attorney General (ccformsubmission.ilattorneygeneral.net)! These government entities can and should do something about this company.
